"Driving the stupid out of construction™"

About Us

With over 40 years of combined experience, BD Engineering offers a variety of engineering services geared towards creating economical, practical and buildable solutions for our clients. Managed by Brian Tannenhaus, P.E., and Ken Fry, P.E., we focus on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and refrigeration engineering for all facility types in the private and public sectors, including corporate, academic, retail, healthcare, industrial, food processing, office, childcare and solar industries. We also offer services for state-funded projects, having been designated as a Small Business Enterprise and prequalified with the State of New Jersey, Division of Property Management and Construction.

When it comes to large-scale construction, there’s no time to error. So we engineered a 3-step system to drive the stupid out of construction. We ID potential roadblocks before a shovel ever hits the ground. We communicate nonstop to keep things moving. And accountability is always priority #1. The result? Projects are delivered on time and on budget. Sometimes even under budget...

Driving the Stupid Out of Construction in 3 Steps

Step 1: Getting ugly, early.

On-the-spot decision making = bad construction. So we eliminate it. From day one, we get granular, delving into project plans in detail. Every component is reviewed. Plans, guidelines, and budgets are thoroughly vetted. And you know moment-to-moment what’s getting done when.

Step 2: Closing the circle of communications.

Timely communication is the cornerstone of good project management. So we make precision a priority. From tight feedback loops to methodical check-ins, our teams and yours are always aligned.

Step 3: Demanding accountability.

Clarity and quality merge to create a tight loop throughout construction. Each step is checked and rechecked for accuracy. Everyone knows their role. Finger-pointing is never tolerated. And a sharp commitment to on-time delivery drives us, so that small issues don’t throw timelines off track.
